Help for grown-ups

The questions we are asked most. Anything else: vahid.sayad@gmail.com, every message is read.

Getting in

How do I open the grown-ups area?
Tap the small lock at the top right of the garden. A sum written in words appears, for example "What is SEVEN plus SIX?"; type the answer on the keypad, two digits (1, then 3). Two wrong answers pause the gate for 30 seconds. Settings, the purchase, the photo book and the links to this website are all behind it. There is no account and no password.
Which devices does it run on?
Android 8 or later, phones and tablets, from Google Play. An iPhone and iPad version is prepared and will be announced on this page when it is on the App Store. The game is played sideways (landscape) and works entirely offline.
My child is 2 (or 6). Is it right for them?
It is made for ages 2 to 5. Every game is tap-only with big targets and nothing to read; the games grow a little harder as the child does, so a 2-year-old starts with easy rounds and a 5-year-old is asked for more. Older children usually enjoy the painting, the letters and the growing garden for a while longer.

The Full garden purchase

What is free and what is paid?
The First Garden is free and complete: eight games, the growing garden, chores, visitors, stickers, the seasons and bedtime. One purchase, Full garden, opens the other four gardens (21 more games) and every garden we add later. No subscription, no other products, no ads.
How do I buy it?
Behind the gate, open the Full garden tab and tap the price. The store (Google Play or the App Store) takes it from there; the app never sees your payment details.
I bought it, but the gardens are locked again (new phone, reinstall, a second device).
On the new device, sign in to the same store account that bought it, open the gate › Full garden › Restore purchase. It needs an internet connection for that one moment. A purchase on Google Play does not open the App Store version, or the other way round.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by the store that sold the purchase: on Google Play through your order history (Google's refund rules apply), on the App Store through Report a Problem. We do not hold your payment, so we cannot refund it ourselves, but if something in the game is wrong, write to us and we will fix it or help you with the store.
Does it work for brothers and sisters?
Yes. Behind the gate you can make a profile for each child, each with their own garden, name and birthday if you like. One Full garden purchase opens everything for every profile on that device.

Play time and bedtime

How do I limit play time?
Behind the gate, set a daily play time. When it is used up, Pip gets sleepy and a calm bedtime scene ends the day's play; the garden is back in the morning. The child cannot change or skip this.
Can the game be used without Wi-Fi?
Yes, completely. Only the purchase and Restore need a connection, for a moment.

Sound and voice

Why does Pip not talk?
On purpose. Guidance is visual: things wiggle, a little hand shows what to tap, and a thought bubble shows the goal, so the game works in every language. Pip giggles and cheers a little; that and the music are switches behind the gate.
The letter games say the letters in English. Can I turn that off?
Yes: gate › Sound › the letter voice. Off, the games show the letters and say nothing. On a device whose language gives the Latin letters other names it starts off.
Where do the songs come from?
Traditional nursery rhymes children know (Row Row Row Your Boat, Bingo, the ABC song and more), arranged and recorded for the game on sampled instruments; a real singer in one verse of some songs. The full credits are in the app (gate › Sound) and on the home page.

Photos, data and deleting

Where are the pictures my child took?
In the photo book behind the gate. They are pictures of the game screen, not from the device's camera; the app never uses the camera, the microphone or your photo library. From the photo book you can delete a picture, share a framed copy, or save it to your Pictures folder (Android) or the Files app (iOS).
What does the app collect about my child, or about me?
Nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, nothing sent to us. Everything stays on the device, and in your phone's own backup if you have that on. The Privacy Policy says it in full.
How do I delete everything?
Delete the app: all of its data on the device goes with it. A copy in your phone's own backup (Android Auto Backup, iCloud) follows your phone's backup settings. Nothing exists with us to delete.

Something is wrong

The game crashes, is slow, or looks wrong on my device.
First make sure the app is up to date in the store, then restart the device. If it still happens, write to vahid.sayad@gmail.com with the device model, the Android or iOS version, and what you tapped just before; a screenshot helps. We answer within a few days, usually sooner.
I have an idea, or my child loves a game and wants more of it.
Tell us. The garden keeps growing, and messages from families decide what grows next.
