Little Garden Friends — Privacy Policy
The short version: Little Garden Friends collects no personal information, from children or from grown-ups: nothing is ever sent to us. Progress, settings and photos of the garden stay on your device (and, if you use your phone's own backup, in your family's backup; see section 4). There are no ads, no analytics, no accounts, no chat and no links out of the app that a child can reach. The app works offline.
1. Who we are
Little Garden Friends is made by Atarava. You can reach us at vahid.sayad@gmail.com. We answer privacy questions from parents and guardians first.
2. What the app collects
Nothing. The app never asks a child for a name, and it never asks anyone for an email address, a photo of your child or any other personal information, and it does not read any from the device. It does not use analytics, crash reporting services, advertising identifiers or location, and it has no server of its own. The app itself connects to the internet only for the purchase (section 5) and, if a grown-up asks for it, Google Play's review sheet (section 5); Android's own backup (section 4) is run by the phone, not by the app.
A grown-up may optionally type a first name and a birthday month and day in the grown-ups area so that Pip can celebrate the child's birthday. This stays in the app's own storage on the device and is never sent to us or to anyone else by the app; like the rest of the saved game it can be part of your phone's own backup (section 4). Removing a child profile deletes it.
3. What stays on the device
- Game progress: which flowers have grown, which stickers were found, which activity steps were reached.
- Settings a grown-up chose: sound, music, play-time reminder, seasons and party days, child profiles.
- Pictures taken with the in-app camera (of the garden, of Pip dressed up, of finished paintings). They are kept in the app's own photo folder on the device, the newest ones only. A grown-up can see and delete them in the photo book behind the gate. A grown-up can also share or save a framed copy, behind the gate: on Android through the phone's own share menu or saved to the device's Pictures folder, on iOS through the Files app. The app itself never sends a picture anywhere; a picture leaves the device only when a grown-up shares it, to the app the grown-up picks. The app also saves a photo of the dance party and the birthday party into the photo book, on the device.
Deleting the app deletes all of this from the device.
4. Your phone's own backup (Android)
On Android, the app lets the phone's own backup (Android Auto Backup) include the saved game, so a new phone or a reinstall brings the garden back: progress, settings, the child profiles (with the optional first name and birthday) and whether the full garden was bought. The photos are not part of the cloud backup. This backup is made by Android, only when backup is turned on in the phone's settings, and goes to your family's own Google account, encrypted; it never comes to us and we cannot see it. Deleting the app does not delete that backup copy: it follows your Google account's backup settings, where you can turn backup off or delete it. On iPhone and iPad, the app's files are part of your device backup in the usual way.
5. Purchases and ratings
The app offers one purchase, "Full garden", which opens the rest of the garden for good. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms and privacy policies; your payment details go to them, never to the app or to us. The store tells the app that the purchase was made (on Google Play the app passes the store's confirmation back to Google Play to complete it), and the app keeps only a yes or no on the device. We receive no personal data about you from a purchase. Restoring a purchase works the same way. Google Play's billing library inside the app may send its own diagnostic information about the purchase to Google, under Google's privacy policy; the app adds nothing to it and none of it comes to us.
Behind the gate, a grown-up can choose to rate the app. On Android this opens Google Play's own review sheet over the app (or the store page); what you write goes to Google Play under your Google account, and the app is not told whether you wrote a review.
6. Advertising
There are no advertisements in Little Garden Friends, on any platform, in the free garden or in the full garden, and this version will never show any. The app contains no advertising software and does not use an advertising identifier. Nothing in the app sells or promotes anything to a child: the one purchase is only shown to grown-ups, behind the gate.
7. Children
The app is made for children aged 2 to 5. It is designed so that a child is never asked for personal information and cannot reach anything outside the app. Settings, the purchase, the photo book and this policy sit behind a grown-ups gate that asks a sum written in words.
Because the app collects nothing, it does not need or ask for parental consent to collect data under COPPA (United States), the GDPR (European Union) or the UK Age Appropriate Design Code. We still design to the spirit of those rules: privacy by default, no profiling, no nudges.
8. Photos
The in-app camera takes a picture of the garden on screen, not with the device's camera. The app never uses the device's camera or microphone and never reads the photo library. Pictures stay in the app's own folder. Behind the grown-ups gate, a grown-up can delete them, share a framed copy through the phone's share menu (with one line naming the game and its store link), or save a framed copy to the device's Pictures folder (Android) or the Files app (iOS); the app only adds that one file and reads nothing else. The app itself never sends a picture anywhere and needs no permission for any of this.
9. Changes to this policy
If anything above changes, we will update this page and the effective date, and we will describe the change in the app's release notes. We will never start collecting personal information from children.
